Welcome
Charles Church West Yorkshire is consulting on proposals for the development of approximately 50 new homes within the Laneside development off Victoria Road in Morley.

Charles Church is part of the Persimmon Group who are building out the existing Laneside development.

The site is centrally located within the Laneside development (to the east of Viceroy Way and south of the temporary construction compound) and was originally reserved for a potential school. However, following a comprehensive review of local education needs, Leeds City Council has now confirmed that the land is no longer required for this purpose.

Charles Church is therefore proposing to deliver a range of 1-to-5-bedroom homes to help meet local housing needs on the land originally reserved for the school. The development would also provide pedestrian and cycle links to the existing development and new landscaping.

This website provides information about the proposed development and an opportunity to share feedback on the emerging proposals. Following this consultation, the feedback received will be considered before a planning application is submitted to Leeds City Council.

Your views are important to us
We are keen to hear the views of the local community and other interested parties before the proposals are finalised.
As part of this consultation, we invite you to complete the online feedback questionnaire provided in the Have Your Say section of this website.

The consultation will run until Friday 16th October 2026.

All feedback will be reviewed and considered as the proposals are refined prior to the submission of the planning application. There will also be a further opportunity to comment on the proposals through the Council’s statutory planning consultation process.
